28 YEARS LATER has the most terrifying movie trailer ever made
December 11, 2024
What will humanity become?
On December 10, Sony dropped the first trailer for the 2025 horror sequel 28 YEARS LATER which marks director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland's return to the horrifying universe of the Rage Virus which began with 2002's 28 DAYS LATER a film that was so influential it forever changed the zombie genre.
A sequel, 28 WEEKS LATER, was released in 2007 and the franchise spawned several comic book series before stalling out for the last 17 years.
The trailer to 28 YEARS LATER is cut to actor Taylor Holmes' haunting 1917 recitation of Rudyard Kipling's 1903 poem "Boots" with flashes of a post-apocalyptic island that has long since moved on from "modern" society as we last saw it in the early 2000s.
We see the key players in brief glimpses including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and Jodie Comer as well as some blood-curdling imagery of skull shrines and more.
The trailer also ominously suggests the Rage Virus has evolved, and that humanity is on the brink of a startling new leap.
