TULSA – The Blackwell Maroons stormed through the Class 3A Dual State Tournament, leaving no doubt as to which team was the best in Oklahoma. On Saturday at Tulsa Union High School, the Maroons claimed their second title in three years with an emphatic 53-18 victory over the Marlow Outlaws in the championship dual.
After narrowly edging Marlow for the 2023 title and suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Outlaws in the 2024 final, Blackwell’s wrestlers came into this year’s tournament on a mission. From the opening match of the quarterfinals to the final pin in the championship round, the Maroons showcased a relentless determination that saw them dismantle their opponents by a combined score of 176-44.
Quarterfinal: Blackwell Cruises Past Cascia Hall 59-18
The Maroons wasted no time setting the tone for the weekend, steamrolling Cascia Hall in their first dual. Blackwell secured crucial victories through dominant performances from multiple wrestlers, including Bowdy Thomason, who pinned his opponent in just 54 seconds, and Kruz Goff, who secured a fall in under a minute. Jason Osgood also delivered a standout performance, earning a technical fall victory with an 18-1 score.

Blackwell overpowered Hinton in nearly every weight class, with their wrestlers securing 10 victories by either pin or technical fall. The Maroons set the tone early with four straight falls from 190-pounder Jason Osgood, 285-pounder Kruz Goff, 106-pounder Garrett Short, and 113-pounder Kole Hetrick.
Though Hinton managed to steal two matches, including an 18-2 tech fall by Kyle Harrall at 165 pounds, it wasn’t nearly enough to slow down the Blackwell juggernaut.

The Maroons racked up six falls and two technical falls en route to a commanding 53-18 victory over Marlow, erasing the sting of last year’s defeat and reclaiming the throne in dominant fashion.
A highlight of the championship dual was heavyweight Kruz Goff, who capped off the team’s historic night by pinning Clete Gilbert in just 40 seconds, sending the Blackwell faithful into a frenzy.
