One arrested Saturday in Blackwell

One adult was arrested Saturday afternoon following a domestic disturbance that left another man hospitalized with multiple stab wounds, according to Blackwell Chief of Police Jay Brewer in an official statement sent out May 12.
Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 3:16 p.m. May 9 to a residence at 917 S. “B” St. after receiving a report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from several stab wounds.
Investigators determined the incident stemmed from a domestic altercation involving a husband and wife, during which the wife’s adult son allegedly stabbed the husband multiple times.

The man involved in the domestic, who was the stabbing victim, was transported by ambulance to Blackwell Regional Hospital before being airlifted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, for further treatment.
The suspect, identified as the wife’s son, was taken into custody at the scene and arrested on a complaint of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
The investigation remains ongoing.
